A Walmart preorder discount has pushed the price of an upcoming Pokemon card set well below its rivals.
As of October 13, Walmart has the Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution Delta Reign Booster Bundle listed for $54.49, down from its $79.99 sticker price, via third-party seller Cataclysm Games. That beats Amazon's current preorder price of $64.45 through Collectors Expedition, and it undercuts the $74.99 Amazon had been charging just last week. The bundle includes six packs, each with 10 cards from Delta Reign's 135-plus card pool, a Basic Energy card, and a Pokemon TCG Live code.
The bigger story is per-pack math. Walmart's price works out to about $9.08 a pack, compared to TCGplayer's listed low of $13.40 for single packs - a savings of over $4 per pack against the marketplace that usually has the best single-pack deals. That gap matters more than the bundle discount itself, since it signals retailers are now competing on preorder hype before a set even ships, not just discounting after launch.
Treat preorder pricing wars like this as temporary. Retailers routinely use third-party sellers to undercut each other ahead of a release, then prices drift back toward market rate once supply catches up.
