The headline feature is the Omni dock, which empties the dustbin, washes and dries the mop pads, dispenses detergent, and refills the robot's water tank after each run. The vacuum itself pulls up to 15,000Pa of suction and uses a cutting brush meant to stop hair from wrapping around the roller. Its two mop pads spin at 180 RPM and stay damp while cleaning, and LiDAR mapping with dual-laser obstacle avoidance helps it navigate around furniture and clutter. Amazon throws in a spare dust bag and a bottle of hard-floor cleaning solution.
Self-emptying, self-washing docks like this one are usually sold as a premium convenience feature, so seeing one on a mid-range machine at $499.99 is notable. The catch is the carpet handling: Tapo recommends hardwood, and while the robot can detect rugs, it has to return to the dock to remove its mop pads before crossing them, which means extra trips in carpet-heavy homes.
If your floors are mostly hard surfaces and you'd rather not touch a dustbin or mop pad for weeks at a time, this is a legitimate price. If you've got wall-to-wall carpet, save the money and buy a plain vacuum instead.
