T-Mobile will offer a 5Gbps fiber internet plan for $90 a month, and it comes with what the company calls a "10-year price guarantee."
The speed is 5 gigabits per second, five times the 1Gbps ("one gig") tier that has long been a common top speed for home fiber. T-Mobile is best known as a wireless carrier, so this is a home-internet offer from a brand most people associate with their phone plan.
Pairing a speed tier with a price promise makes the length of that promise the number to watch. Ten years is long for a monthly bill to stay fixed, and the wording is T-Mobile's own.
