Amazon has cut the Soundcore by Anker Q20i headphones to $39.97 as of October 22, down from their $69.99 list price. That is $30.02 off, or about 43%.
The discount applies to select colors, not the whole lineup. It is one of several early Black Friday markdowns Amazon has started running ahead of November.
The Q20i is an over-ear pair with hybrid active noise canceling (ANC), where microphones pick up outside sound and the headphones generate counter-noise to cancel it. They can reduce up to 90% of outside noise, a ceiling rather than a typical result, and one we have not tested. A Transparency mode pipes ambient sound back in when you need to hear announcements or traffic.
Other specs include 40mm dynamic drivers, which are the speaker elements that produce the sound. Battery life is 40 hours with ANC on and up to 60 hours with it off.
The price is the main story. Noise canceling at $39.97 is closer to an impulse buy than a considered purchase, and the battery numbers suit a long flight without a charger. Still, a 43% cut is measured against a list price, and the $69.99 tag was already modest for ANC headphones. No hands-on verdict on sound quality or the strength of the noise canceling accompanied the deal.
No end date was given for the markdown, and the color you want may not be among the discounted ones. Early deals sometimes get deeper closer to Black Friday itself, so a buyer who is not traveling soon has a reason to wait.
