Sony's S100F soundbar is $98, down from $159.99, in an early October Prime Day sale running October 6-7.
The S100F is a compact 2.0-channel soundbar built for small TV setups, not home theaters. It connects over HDMI ARC or optical audio, with Bluetooth for streaming from a phone and a USB port for playing audio files directly. A Voice Mode is tuned to sharpen dialogue, and Sony's S-Force Pro Front Surround processing tries to widen the soundstage from just two channels. There's no subwoofer or rear speakers in the box, which keeps the price down and the footprint small enough to fit on furniture a bigger setup wouldn't.
That tradeoff is the real story. A two-channel system with no subwoofer will not deliver deep bass or true surround sound, so this isn't a replacement for Sonos-style multi-speaker bundles costing several times as much. It's a fix for the narrower problem of modern flat-screen TVs with thin, tinny built-in speakers, aimed at people who mainly want clearer dialogue for shows, movies, and sports without rearranging a room.
At $98, it undercuts most soundbars with any brand recognition, and the discount tracks a broader pattern of audio and smart-home gear getting marked down ahead of Prime Day rather than during it.
