Sonos's step-down soundbar just got $140 cheaper for Prime Day.
The Sonos Beam Gen 2 is selling for $359.99 at Amazon and Best Buy, and $359 directly from Sonos, down from its usual $499 list price. That's also $10 below the previous Prime Day price Sonos ran on the same model. The Gen 2 added Dolby Atmos support over the original Beam, though it simulates the effect through virtualization rather than the upward-firing drivers found on pricier Sonos hardware. It also includes eARC, so shared volume and power controls with a TV come without a second remote.
The real pitch isn't the sound bar itself - it's the ecosystem. Buy a Beam and you've bought into Sonos's multi-room system, with every other speaker in the lineup ready to pair over Wi-Fi. That lock-in is also why Sonos can afford to discount a mid-tier model this aggressively: the money gets made later, on the soundbar that convinces you to add a sub and two rears.
Atmos-by-virtualization is still a simulation, not the real thing - if you want the upward-firing drivers, that's an extra $340 for the Beam Ultra.
