Amazon's Prime Day sale has ended, but the discount on Sonos's flagship soundbar didn't go with it.
The Sonos Arc Ultra is still $899 at Amazon, $200 off its usual $1,099 list price. The 46-inch soundbar packs a 9.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos layout, a step up from the original Arc, plus a new Sound Motion driver that Sonos says doubles the bass output without a separate subwoofer. PCMag called it the best soundbar of 2024 in an "outstanding" review. At under three inches tall, it sits beneath most TVs or mounts on a wall.
$899 is still a real purchase, not an impulse buy, and the hardware has real gaps. There's one HDMI eARC port with no passthrough, no optical input, and no DTS:X support for Blu-ray collectors. Voice control is limited to Alexa and Sonos' own assistant, so Google Assistant users are out of luck.
For that money, you're paying for Sonos's room-tuning software and ecosystem as much as the hardware itself - the Arc Ultra sounds excellent, it just doesn't play as nicely with other gear as cheaper multi-input rivals.
