Apple's new Siri AI isn’t a hardware‑only upgrade.
At WWDC 2026 Apple announced Siri AI as a feature of Apple Intelligence. It will ship this fall inside iOS 27, macOS 27, iPadOS 27 and visionOS 27. The assistant gets a chatbot‑style UI and a handful of new tricks, but the rollout is a software update, not a new device requirement.
Because Siri AI is tied to Apple Intelligence, it will work on every iPhone, iPad, Mac or Vision device that already runs those services. That means users with 2022‑era hardware can still access the upgraded assistant, contrary to the rumor that it’s limited to 2024‑plus models.
