The markdown was live as of October 21.

That works out to roughly 31% off. According to the listing coverage, the price sits not far from the lowest Amazon has ever charged for the machine, which matters more than the percentage. A discount measured against a list price tells you little. A discount measured against the retailer's own floor tells you how much room is left.

The hardware is a mid-priced combination unit. Roborock lists 10,000Pa of suction, a pascal being the unit for suction pressure, and the company says it lifts fur, dirt and debris from carpet and hard floors. Two anti-tangle brushes are meant to keep hair from wrapping around the roller. The mopping system has three adjustable water flow settings.

For navigation, the vacuum uses PreciSense LiDAR, a laser-based sensor that maps each room so the robot can plan its cleaning path. Its 2.7-liter sealed dust bag is rated to go seven to nine weeks between emptyings, a figure that will vary with pet hair and the size of your home.

The timing is the more interesting part. This is an October markdown, weeks ahead of the shopping event it is borrowing momentum from. Retailers have learned that shoppers who buy early are shoppers who do not wait for competitors' sales. For a buyer, the practical question is whether the remaining gap to the record low is worth the wait, given that the current price is already described as close to it. A saving of a few dollars is easy to lose to a sold-out listing.

The suction and dust-bag numbers are the company's own specifications, so treat them as a starting point rather than a verdict. At $249.98, though, the price is the least uncertain thing about this vacuum.","["robot-vacuum","roborock","amazon","deals"]","2026-10-21T09:46:56.000Z","2026-10-21T11:10:06.822Z","2026-10-21T11:10:09.122Z","published",null,[24
"editor-r1","editor",1,"Remove the leftover drafting note in the last paragraph ("since the source does not cover app controls or carpet handling in detail"), and either drop or properly frame the unsupported claims that a Black Friday markdown would 'likely save only a little more' and that the machine has sold for less before, then end with a real closing.","resolved","deals",[32,33,34,30],"robot-vacuum","roborock","amazon",[36
Mashable","https://mashable.com/tech/oct-21-roborock-q7-m5-plus-robot-vacuum-mop-deal",0
42,47,52,57,61,66,71,76,81,86,90,95,100,105
"AI","ai",7049,"2026-10-21T13:00:00.000Z
"Security","security",1024,"2026-10-21T13:56:45.000Z
"Policy","policy",559,"2026-10-21T12:24:10.000Z
"Deals",544,"2026-10-21T11:57:35.000Z
"Hardware","hardware",278,"2026-10-21T11:45:49.000Z
"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",260,"2026-10-21T09:58:03.000Z
"Science","science",211,"2026-10-21T09:00:00.000Z
"Startups","startups",137,"2026-10-20T22:24:15.000Z
"Software","software",134,"2026-10-20T14:57:15.000Z
"Dev Tools","dev-tools",121
"General","general",91,"2026-10-20T23:04:19.000Z
"Gaming","gaming",84,"2026-10-21T02:56:30.000Z
"Reviews","reviews",38,"2026-10-20T12:00:00.000Z
"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
