Ring's Indoor Cam 2K is $24.99 at Amazon, down from $59.99, and its Battery Doorbell 2K is $39.99, down from $99.99. That is 58% and 60% off, and both are at their lowest-ever prices, according to the deal listing. Together they cost $64.98.
The two do different jobs. The Indoor Cam plugs into an outlet, so there is no battery to charge, and it records color video in low light. It has a fixed view, so placement matters. Its removable lens cover blocks the picture but not the microphone. For full audio privacy, you have to disable the mic in the Ring app.
The Battery Doorbell covers the front door. It has a 140-degree field of view both horizontally and vertically, up to 6x zoom, and installs without wiring. In exchange, you recharge the battery, and it needs a 2.4GHz wifi network. Both cameras offer 2K video and two-way talk.
The hardware price is the smaller part of the cost. Live viewing, two-way talk and basic real-time notifications work for free. Reviewing saved footage does not. A single-device plan runs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, and a plan covering multiple devices at one location starts at $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
That changes the math. A doorbell plus a single-device annual plan costs $89.98 in the first year. Both cameras on the multi-device annual plan cost $164.97 in the first year. The $95 saved on these two cameras ($35 on the Indoor Cam, $60 on the doorbell) is a bit less than two years of the $49.99 single-device plan, which comes to $99.98.
So the discount is real, but it covers only the cheap part of owning a Ring. If you want occasional live check-ins on a pet or a hallway, the $24.99 Indoor Cam is a low-risk buy. If you want a searchable record of who came to the door, count the plan as part of the price.
