Today's systems force every agent to study one fixed resolution, even though some questions need a close-up and others need the full frame. DREAM adds a quick probe round where each agent tries multiple resolutions, measures its own uncertainty with a metric called Average Normalized Log-Likelihood, and settles on whichever resolution it handles best. A second piece, Uncertainty-Guided Rollback Aggregation, tracks each agent's confidence across rounds and restores an early correct answer if an agent later caved to a confident-sounding but wrong peer.

That second fix targets a real failure mode in these systems: agents that had the right answer talking themselves out of it because another agent sounded sure. Multi-agent debate was supposed to make models more reliable by making them check each other's work, so an architecture that explicitly detects and reverses peer-pressure flip-flops is a useful admission that debate alone doesn't fix hallucination, it can also spread it.

Across six multimodal datasets, DREAM improved the accuracy-token trade-off by 1.5 to 3.2 percentage points over existing debate baselines, with no per-dataset tuning. That's a real but modest gain, and it comes with the usual cost of multi-agent setups: more inference passes per answer. Worth watching, not worth a press release.","["ai","multimodal-ai","multi-agent-systems","llm-research"]","2026-10-12T04:00:00.000Z","2026-10-12T09:14:57.639Z","2026-10-12T09:15:11.555Z","published",null,[],"ai",[24,26,27,28],"multimodal-ai","multi-agent-systems","llm-research",[30
arXiv cs.AI","https://arxiv.org/abs/2610.05615",0
36,39,44,49,54,59,64,69,74,79,84,89,94,99
"AI",6966
"Security","security",952,"2026-10-12T04:54:12.000Z
"Policy","policy",496,"2026-10-11T20:06:43.000Z
"Deals","deals",489,"2026-10-12T13:30:00.000Z
"Hardware","hardware",237,"2026-10-12T13:24:45.000Z
"Science","science",196,"2026-10-11T15:34:40.000Z
"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",192,"2026-10-12T14:07:13.000Z
"Startups","startups",121,"2026-10-12T13:22:34.000Z
"Software","software",115,"2026-10-11T07:34:45.000Z
"Dev Tools","dev-tools",111,"2026-10-12T11:22:24.000Z
"General","general",70,"2026-10-11T14:15:00.000Z
"Gaming","gaming",59,"2026-10-09T11:43:43.000Z
"Reviews","reviews",35,"2026-10-12T14:00:00.000Z
"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
