One heckler asked what Nvidia was doing about the chips found in Russian drones, then added a charge of environmental destruction. Huang told security "it's okay, go easy," said "I'll talk to you later" as the group was escorted out, and returned to his slides. Nvidia's livestream did not fully capture the moment. GTC Berlin runs October 20-22.

The complaint appears to trace to earlier reports that Nvidia's Jetson Orin modules, small computers for running AI at the edge of a network, were found in Russian cruise missiles and AI drones. Those reports said Russia's S-71 "Monochrome" weapon uses a Jetson Orin for autonomous targeting. A separate August report claimed a Russian drone with fully autonomous targeting killed three civilians in Ukraine, and said recovered wreckage contained Jetson Orin modules.

Nvidia's earlier answer was that Jetson Orin modules are consumer-grade products sold to students, developers and startups, are not designed for military use, and are not available in Russia. The company also admitted it cannot track resale of pre-owned chips.

That admission is the weak point. "Not sold in Russia" describes Nvidia's own shipments, not where a module ends up after a second or third owner. Western commercial parts have a long record of surfacing in Russian weapons, and a cheap, general-purpose board is about as easy to divert as hardware gets.

The protest was a stunt, but the question behind it is a fair one. A chipmaker that sells an open-market product has few tools once it leaves the shelf, and Nvidia has not said what, if anything, it could change about how Jetson modules are sold or tracked.","["nvidia","gtc","russia","ai-chips"]","2026-10-21T09:57:06.000Z","2026-10-21T11:32:18.341Z","2026-10-21T11:32:20.379Z","published",null,[],"hardware",[26,27,28,29],"nvidia","gtc","russia","ai-chips",[31
Tom's Hardware","https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/jensen-huang-nvidia-gtc-keynote-disrupted-by-greenpeace-protest-over-chips-in-russian-drones-what-are-you-doing-about-that-heckler-demands-before-being-thrown-out",0
37,42,47,52,57,61,66,71,76,81,85,90,95,100
"AI","ai",7049,"2026-10-21T13:00:00.000Z
"Security","security",1024,"2026-10-21T13:56:45.000Z
"Policy","policy",559,"2026-10-21T12:24:10.000Z
"Deals","deals",544,"2026-10-21T11:57:35.000Z
"Hardware",278,"2026-10-21T11:45:49.000Z
"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",260,"2026-10-21T09:58:03.000Z
"Science","science",211,"2026-10-21T09:00:00.000Z
"Startups","startups",137,"2026-10-20T22:24:15.000Z
"Software","software",134,"2026-10-20T14:57:15.000Z
"Dev Tools","dev-tools",121
"General","general",91,"2026-10-20T23:04:19.000Z
"Gaming","gaming",84,"2026-10-21T02:56:30.000Z
"Reviews","reviews",38,"2026-10-20T12:00:00.000Z
"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
