Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days hasn't even started, and MacBook discounts are already beating last year's cap.
Ahead of the Oct. 6-7 event, Amazon cut $200 off every MacBook Air configuration, including the 13-inch M5 model with 16GB of RAM and a terabyte of storage, now priced at $1,399. MacBook Pro cuts go further: the 16-inch M5 Max model with 48GB of RAM and 2TB of storage drops to $4,499, a $500 cut, while a 14-inch M5 Max configuration with 36GB of RAM and 2TB of storage falls to $3,499, saving $600. Other Pro configurations are discounted anywhere from $140 to $300.
Last year's October Prime Day topped out at $400 off MacBook Pro models, the same ceiling Black Friday 2025 repeated. This year's pre-event $500 and $600 cuts already blow past that, which either means Amazon is leaning harder into pre-sale pricing to pull in shoppers early, or that Apple's summer price hikes simply left more room to cut from.
Whichever model you want, the smart move is buying now: Amazon isn't likely to beat its own $600 cut once Prime Big Deal Days officially begins.
