Amazon's early Prime Day sale is quietly handing back the money Apple took from iPad buyers over the summer.
Prime Big Deal Days knocks $100 off nearly every configuration of the 2026 M4 iPad Air and iPad Mini 7, plus $50 off the entry-level iPad. The 11-inch M4 iPad Air drops to $649 and the 13-inch model to $849, both $100 off list. The iPad Mini 7 falls to $499 for the base 128GB Wi-Fi model, also down $100. The entry-level iPad dips to $399, a $50 cut, and Best Buy is matching several of these prices.
The real story is what you're getting at that price: this is Apple's current iPad Air lineup, built around the M4 chip plus a new C1X modem and N1 networking chip that add Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support. The design hasn't changed since 2025, but the silicon has, and these discounts erase the premium Apple added when it raised iPad prices this summer.
Call it a rare case of a retailer sale actually undoing a manufacturer's price hike instead of just discounting last year's leftovers.
