Amazon's early Prime Day iPad deals are here, and most of them are underwhelming.
Ahead of Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days on October 6 and 7, deals have started trickling in on Apple's iPad lineup. Most configurations of the standard iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro are discounted by just $20 to $30 - a fraction of the cuts expected once the sale officially starts. A handful of models are already worth a look: the 13-inch M4 iPad Air with cellular is $100 off at $999, and the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro with 512GB storage is $200 off at $1,299. The base iPad with the A16 chip, meanwhile, is only $22 to $30 cheaper than its list price.
Last year's Prime Big Deal Days knocked $70 off the base iPad and $150 off the M3 iPad Air, so today's modest discounts read less like a sale and more like a preview. Apple raised prices across the iPad lineup this summer, which makes even a $20 discount feel like a return to normal rather than a genuine bargain.
If patience is an option, next week's real sale is the one to watch - assuming the good configurations don't sell out first.
