A 36-pack Pokémon TCG Delta Reign Booster Display Box is listed for preorder at $252.47 on Amazon, $16.74 below its usual $269.21.
The lower price comes from a third-party seller, Collectors Expedition, rather than from Amazon itself. That was the price as of October 23. Free delivery is estimated for November 14, eight days after Delta Reign's November 6 release, so anyone hoping to open packs on launch day will be waiting.
The per-pack math is simple. At $252.47, the box works out to about $7.01 per booster, against roughly $7.48 at the usual price. Each pack holds 10 random cards, so the box contains 360, not counting Energy and code cards. That is about $0.70 a card, and the discount is about 6%.
The set itself adds over 135 cards. Among them are Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex, plus three new Legendary Stadiums.
A 6% cut is real money on a $269 purchase, but it is not a dramatic one. It matters most to people who were already planning to buy a full display box, and much less to anyone who would otherwise grab a few packs. Because the cards in each pack are random, the box does not guarantee any particular card from that list.
The delivery date is the other half of the price. A preorder placed now buys a small discount in exchange for a later arrival than a launch-week purchase. Whether that trade suits you depends on whether you want the cards on November 6 or simply want them for less.
