Pluto Security has raised $42 million to help companies deal with a problem AI just created: security teams drowning in new blind spots.
The round brings in Jump Capital, TLV Partners, Ansa Capital, and a handful of angel investors. Pluto Security did not detail how it plans to spend the money, and the announcement offered more funding math than product specifics. Still, the raise lands at a moment when enterprise security teams are grappling with a wave of AI tools entering the workplace without much oversight. That is the gap Pluto says it is built to close.
AI adoption inside companies has outpaced the tooling meant to monitor it, leaving security teams to improvise. A $42 million round signals investors think that gap is big enough, and durable enough, to fund. Whether Pluto's product actually closes it is a separate question from whether investors liked the pitch.
Plenty of AI-security startups have raised money this year on the strength of a headline problem rather than a proven fix. This one will need to show its work.
