Outmarket just closed a second funding round in the same year.
The insurtech startup has raised $34.5 million, months after an earlier round whose size wasn't disclosed. Outmarket builds AI tools that automate the paperwork insurance agencies and brokers process by hand, the kind of forms-based busywork that eats hours every week. The company hasn't said what it plans to do with the new cash or named the investors involved. Coming so soon after its last raise, the round suggests either faster-than-expected growth or a need to keep building before competitors catch up.
Insurance back-office work is exactly the kind of repetitive, document-heavy process AI is well suited to automate, and investors have been chasing that opportunity across the industry. A second check in quick succession usually means either the product is working or the burn rate is high enough that the company needed runway sooner than planned. Without visibility into growth numbers, it's hard to tell which.
Not every software company needs two rounds in under a year. The real test for Outmarket will be whether agencies keep paying once the novelty wears off.
