OpenAI's latest model swap comes with a new way to see the answer, not just read it.
GPT-6 is now rolling out to ChatGPT users worldwide, OpenAI said on October 7. The company is pairing the model with what it calls Intelligent UI, a feature that renders some responses as visuals and interactive elements instead of plain text. OpenAI says the combination also delivers faster responses. The rollout drew notice elsewhere online too, with one discussion thread pulling in 469 points and 243 comments.
Intelligent UI signals a shift from chatbots that only type back at you toward ones that build small interfaces on the fly - charts, maps, or clickable widgets instead of a wall of text. That's a meaningful change in how people interact with AI, even if OpenAI's announcement is light on which tasks trigger it or how it decides what to render.
OpenAI's post reads like a product launch, light on technical detail and heavy on the word everyone. Judge the UI claims once they show up in your own chat window.
