Amazon's October Prime Day sale closes out tonight, and the smart home discounts are some of the deepest of the event.
Security cameras lead the pack: the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera is $29.99 (down from $99.99), the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus is $79.99, and the Eufy Security SoloCam S340 is $119.99 with a solar panel and local storage that skips a subscription fee. Indoor cameras start at $15.99 for the Blink Mini 2K+, and video doorbells range from $37.99 for the Chamberlain myQ to $169.99 for the radar-equipped Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. Smart locks are discounted too: Eufy's fingerprint-reading Smart Lock C220 is $89.99, and its FamiLock E34, which unlocks via palm-vein scanning, is $195.99. Eufy's video doorbell, the E340 Kit, also supports local storage, following the same no-subscription approach as the SoloCam.
The spread shows how fractured the smart home market still is - cheap cameras lock you into monthly cloud fees, while pricier local-storage options from Eufy avoid that bill but cost more upfront. Biometric locks like the FamiLock E34 also signal where the category is headed: fingerprint and palm-vein unlocking, once reserved for flagship hardware, is now showing up in discount-priced sale items.
Price trackers call several of these record lows, but a "record low" on a one-day sale is still a sales pitch - check a device's full price history, not just its usual retail tag, before you buy.
