The digital version sits at $59.99. The game launches on November 5.\n\nAmazon is also attaching a preorder price guarantee. Your card is charged when the game ships, and if the price falls between now and then, you pay the lowest figure from that window. If it dropped to $55, you would pay $55. The practical upshot is that preordering carries little price risk, though the guarantee as described only protects against drops.\n\nThe physical edition has one more thing going for it. Nintendo is putting textured foil cover art on the first print run, a detail aimed squarely at collectors.\n\nThe more interesting number is the gap that closed. At $69.99, the disc cost $10 more than the download. At $59.88, the two are effectively tied, so the choice shifts from price to what you want to own. A disc can be lent, resold or shelved. A digital copy cannot, but it needs no trip to the mailbox and no cartridge swapping.\n\nThat leaves the foil packaging as the real tiebreaker, and it applies only to the first print run. Whether that is worth anything depends on how much you care about a box that will mostly sit on a shelf.","[\"nintendo\",\"zelda\",\"preorder\",\"switch-2\"]","2026-10-23T07:00:00.000Z","2026-10-23T08:18:49.205Z","2026-10-23T08:18:51.947Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"Remove the unsupported \"for the first time\" claim from the dek, since the source never says the physical edition was previously not cheaper than digital, and cut or soften the unsourced assertion that buyers \"expect\" digital to be cheaper, so the piece sticks to what the source supports.","resolved","deals",[32,33,34,35],"nintendo","zelda","preorder","switch-2",[37],{"name":38,"url":39},"Mashable","https:\u002F\u002Fmashable.com\u002Fentertainment\u002Foct-23-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-preorder-deal",0,{"sections":42},[43,48,53,58,61,66,70,75,80,85,90,95,100,105],{"name":44,"slug":45,"count":46,"latest_published_at":47},"AI","ai",7065,"2026-10-22T21:51:25.000Z",{"name":49,"slug":50,"count":51,"latest_published_at":52},"Security","security",1058,"2026-10-23T08:28:12.000Z",{"name":54,"slug":55,"count":56,"latest_published_at":57},"Policy","policy",574,"2026-10-22T20:23:48.000Z",{"name":59,"slug":30,"count":60,"latest_published_at":18},"Deals",560,{"name":62,"slug":63,"count":64,"latest_published_at":65},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",289,"2026-10-23T08:23:42.000Z",{"name":67,"slug":68,"count":64,"latest_published_at":69},"Hardware","hardware","2026-10-23T04:24:18.000Z",{"name":71,"slug":72,"count":73,"latest_published_at":74},"Science","science",216,"2026-10-22T22:12:19.000Z",{"name":76,"slug":77,"count":78,"latest_published_at":79},"Startups","startups",144,"2026-10-22T23:15:00.000Z",{"name":81,"slug":82,"count":83,"latest_published_at":84},"Software","software",142,"2026-10-23T00:09:58.000Z",{"name":86,"slug":87,"count":88,"latest_published_at":89},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",122,"2026-10-21T16:00:00.000Z",{"name":91,"slug":92,"count":93,"latest_published_at":94},"General","general",98,"2026-10-22T21:07:09.000Z",{"name":96,"slug":97,"count":98,"latest_published_at":99},"Gaming","gaming",88,"2026-10-22T22:25:33.000Z",{"name":101,"slug":102,"count":103,"latest_published_at":104},"Reviews","reviews",38,"2026-10-20T12:00:00.000Z",{"name":106,"slug":107,"count":108,"latest_published_at":109},"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
