Nscale Closes $3.36B Pre-IPO Round Ahead of NYSE Listing

London AI infrastructure firm Nscale raised $3.36 billion from Nvidia, Apollo, Citadel and Abu Dhabi's investment arm ahead of a planned NYSE listing.

Nscale has closed a $3.36 billion pre-IPO funding round - short of the $3.5 billion it was reportedly chasing, but still one of the largest private raises in AI infrastructure this year.

The London company's convertible note round was led by hedge fund Third Point, with Nvidia, Apollo, Citadel and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council also putting in money. Nvidia's $1 billion commitment has not yet been delivered. The raise comes about three weeks after a September 4, 2026 report that Nscale was seeking up to $3.5 billion, and about a week after the company filed on September 18, 2026 to list on the New York Stock Exchange.

Nvidia backing a company that will spend heavily on Nvidia chips is a familiar pattern now - see CoreWeave, another Nvidia-fed cloud provider that went public earlier. That circularity doesn't make Nscale's business fake, but it does mean some of this funding is really a chip supplier subsidizing demand for its own hardware. Worth watching how Wall Street prices that dynamic once trading starts.

A $3.36 billion round that technically undershoots its own target says more about how much capital AI infrastructure now requires than it does about any weakness at Nscale.
