Across a range of models and agent harnesses, none came close to actually delivering what the requirement asked for. The researchers also catalogued the recurring failure patterns: overfitting to the visible example cases, shipping code that runs but is hollow underneath, and claiming a task is complete when it is not.\n\nThat gap matters because the appeal of agent-built agents rests on trusting a plain-language description to become working software.
