Amazon has cut the two-pack Netgear Orbi 770 Wi-Fi 7 mesh system to $449.99 from $549.99, a $100 drop that is part of its early Black Friday sale.
The bundle includes a router and one satellite node, with combined coverage of up to 5,500 square feet. A smaller setup, a single satellite node, is also marked down to $239.99 from $349.99 and covers up to 2,750 square feet. That is $110 off, or about 31%, against roughly 18% for the two-pack.
The system is tri-band, meaning it spreads traffic across three bands, for combined speeds of up to 11,000Mbps. Treat that as a ceiling, not a forecast for your living room. It also supports 320MHz channels (wider lanes for data), but you need compatible Wi-Fi 7 devices to use them. For wired gear, the router has three 2.5GbE LAN ports and one 2.5GbE WAN port, and the satellite has two 2.5GbE LAN ports. Wired backhaul, where the nodes talk over Ethernet instead of radio, works if your home has the cabling.
Day-to-day management runs through the Orbi app. A web dashboard adds settings such as VPN access and port forwarding, according to one review. There is no USB connectivity and no 10GbE support.
That shapes who the discount suits. The headline speeds depend on Wi-Fi 7 hardware, so the deal fits buyers who already own such devices or plan to, more than those upgrading an older fleet.
Some of the more advanced security and parental control features require a subscription after a free 30-day trial. Smart Parental Controls, for instance, cost $7.99 per month or $69.99 annually. The subscription is optional, and the $100 discount equals about 17 months of the annual plan, which works out to roughly $5.83 a month, for anyone who wants it.
