Nespresso's pod machine is $99 again, for anyone who missed the last sale.
Amazon has cut the price of the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ to $99, down from its $129 list price - a 23% discount. The deal only applies to five colors: licorice black, buna yellow, candy pink, pacific blue, and beige. The machine brews five sizes, from single and double espressos up to 12-ounce coffees, and switches between hot and iced drinks. It heats up in 30 seconds and holds 25 fluid ounces of water in a removable side tank.
Pod machines keep landing in this same $80-to-$130 band whenever retailers want to move units, which says more about Nespresso's margins than about any real scarcity. A $30 discount on a machine that already undercuts a Keurig or a countertop espresso setup is a solid buy if you were already in the market - not a reason to start a pod habit you didn't have.
The locked-in capsule system remains the actual cost of entry here; the machine is just the cheap part.
