Meta's Muse Charm will do more than run its AI assistant: it can spot and interact with other Muse Charms nearby.
Bloomberg published new details on the wearable Meta teased at its Meta Connect keynote on September 23, 2026. The Muse Charm houses Meta's Muse AI agent and includes a built-in 5G modem, so it works without a Wi-Fi connection. It also comes with a two-inch OLED touchscreen, a new operating system, and a fingerprint sensor for starting interactions with the AI. Per Bloomberg, the device can also recognize and interact with other Charms in range, though Meta has not detailed what that interaction actually does or when the product ships this year.
That device-to-device awareness is the interesting part. Most AI wearables, including Meta's own Ray-Ban glasses, treat the assistant as a solo act; a Charm that acknowledges peers nearby points toward Meta building a mesh of always-on devices rather than a single gadget. It is also a hedge against the flops of standalone AI hardware like the Humane AI Pin and Rabbit R1, which had no built-in audience to talk to.
Whether that peer awareness amounts to more than a proximity ping remains to be seen, and Meta has a habit of teasing features that arrive months late, or not at all.
