Meta's smart glasses just got cheaper and came in a lot more shapes.
At Meta Connect 2026, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the Meta Ray-Ban Gen 3, with the entry-level Adventurer style priced at $249. The lineup now spans 51 style combinations, including Ray-Ban Aviators, a cat-eye frame called Capri, a rounded style named Nova, and a 90th-anniversary Aviator limited edition. Meta added adjustable temple tips for a better fit, plus six microphones and Dolby Atmos spatial audio capture meant to record sound the way it is heard in a room, not just what is said into the mic. Zuckerberg demoed the audio pitch by taking a call on a jet ski.
Price and fit have been the practical barriers keeping smart glasses a novelty rather than a daily accessory, and a $249 entry point undercuts where Meta started this category. Pair that with dozens of frame shapes and celebrity tie-ins - a Lisa from Blackpink edition with pet-themed charms, an updated ivory Kylie Jenner colorway - and Meta is clearly optimizing for looking like normal glasses over looking like a device with a camera in it.
Whether the audio and fit upgrades matter as much as the marketing push is a fair question, but a fashion-forward lineup at a lower price is still the more convincing pitch Meta has made for this category so far.
