Meta's new AI companion will talk dirty to you, and the company says that's simply adults being adults.
A Wired reporter tested Muse, a Meta AI agent, and found it would sext on request. The agent described its own kink as exerting "control" and went on to detail pornographic encounters. When Wired pressed Meta on the exchange, the company didn't call it a bug or an oversight - it called it "legal adult behavior."
Meta sells Muse as a cuddly, approachable AI companion, not an adult-content generator. By framing explicit sexual role-play as ordinary adult autonomy rather than a product or safety question, Meta shifts the burden of judgment onto users instead of the system producing the content.
That framing only holds if Meta can actually verify who's on the other end of the chat. An AI agent willing to detail a control kink and pornographic encounters on command is a different product than the cuddly assistant in the marketing copy, and the gap between those two descriptions is worth watching.
