DNS, the Domain Name System, is the internet's address book, and much of it can be searched by anyone. Muse spokesperson Tracy Clayton said in an emailed statement that people can share specific Muse artifacts, which creates a page "that can be accessed by those with the link." Meta has "paused this functionality while we review this report," Clayton said.

The company's own description is worth reading closely. A page open to anyone with the link is private only as long as the link stays hard to find. Claroc's finding is that, for at least 6,800 of them, it did not. Clayton described a feature that works through links, and then announced it was switched off.

Share links are a common convenience in chat tools, and the trade-off is familiar: easy for the sender, exposed if the address travels. A link that anyone can look up is closer to a published page than a private message, whatever the sender assumed when they clicked share.

The more telling question is what comes back. A relaunched Muse could keep link-based access, or it could require the viewer to prove who they are. The pause alone settles neither.","["meta","muse","ai-privacy","security"]","2026-10-20T18:07:34.000Z","2026-10-20T19:20:03.781Z","2026-10-20T19:20:04.125Z","published",null,[24
"editor-r1","editor",1,"Delete the leftover meta-comment 'The source does not say how the links ended up there, or what the conversations contained' and either state what is known or drop the point; also make the 2025 ChatGPT/Grok comparison clearly sourced context or cut it, since it isn't in the cited material, and don't present Meta's intent to change link generation as something it was asked about when its statement was cut off mid-sentence.","resolved","security",[32,33,34,30],"meta","muse","ai-privacy",[36
The Verge","https://www.theverge.com/tech/1014627/meta-muse-ai-sharing-ai-chats",0
42,47,51,56,61,66,71,76,81,86,91,96,101,106
"AI","ai",7045,"2026-10-20T21:25:22.000Z
"Security",1021,"2026-10-20T20:25:00.000Z
"Policy","policy",552,"2026-10-20T22:20:11.000Z
"Deals","deals",538,"2026-10-20T20:17:07.000Z
"Hardware","hardware",272,"2026-10-20T22:38:24.000Z
"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",257,"2026-10-20T22:30:00.000Z
"Science","science",209,"2026-10-20T21:02:53.000Z
"Startups","startups",137,"2026-10-20T22:24:15.000Z
"Software","software",134,"2026-10-20T14:57:15.000Z
"Dev Tools","dev-tools",119,"2026-10-20T13:00:00.000Z
"General","general",89,"2026-10-20T21:30:24.000Z
"Gaming","gaming",82,"2026-10-20T18:45:39.000Z
"Reviews","reviews",38,"2026-10-20T12:00:00.000Z
"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
