Meta wants a foothold in your company's tech stack, not just your feed.
The company announced an enterprise AI platform aimed at businesses and developers, built around its Muse assistant along with Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code. Meta says it plans to bring its "full technology stack" to corporate customers. To lead the effort, Meta has hired MongoDB's CEO to head the new initiative. Meta has not detailed pricing or a monetization plan for any of these tools.
This is Meta trying to become infrastructure, not just an app. Every major AI lab is racing to embed itself in how businesses build software, and Meta has spent years mostly giving its AI tools away for free or open-sourcing them. Hiring an enterprise database executive to run this signals Meta wants to be taken seriously as a platform vendor, not just a research shop with a chatbot.
Whether businesses actually adopt a Meta-built stack is a different question. Selling to enterprises is a slower, more relationship-driven game than shipping consumer features, and Meta is a relative newcomer at it.
