Researchers demonstrated the workflow using a published result on self-triggered impulsive consensus as a jumping-off point. From there, Andy formulated a new problem: global exponential leader-follower synchronization for delayed heterogeneous networks with switching communication topologies. It then built a hybrid control scheme combining self-triggered impulses with execution delay and recovery-phase continuous feedback, established sufficient conditions for synchronization, ruled out Zeno behavior in both the sampling and impulse sequences, and confirmed the result with a numerical example.

Most AI math tools to date - think proof assistants paired with large language models - are built to solve problems someone else poses. Andy's pitch is different: it generates its own research direction from existing literature, then holds itself to a separate verification pass rather than trusting its own proof writing. That split between generating and checking matters, because plausible but wrong proofs are the main failure mode that has dogged LLM assisted mathematics.

Still, this is one case study on one control theory problem, described in a preprint that has not been peer reviewed. Whether Andy's proofs hold up under scrutiny from actual mathematicians, and whether formulating a research problem here amounts to more than remixing an existing paper's setup, remains to be seen.","["ai agents","mathematics","theorem proving","autonomous research"]","2026-08-18T04:00:00.000Z","2026-08-18T07:23:32.159Z","2026-08-18T07:23:43.935Z","published",null,[],"ai",[26,27,28,29],"ai agents","mathematics","theorem proving","autonomous research",[31
arXiv cs.AI","https://arxiv.org/abs/2608.15052",0
37,41,45,50,55,60,65,70,75,79,84,89,94,99
"AI",3293,"2026-08-20T04:00:00.000Z
"Security","security",435
"Policy","policy",210,"2026-08-19T09:32:27.000Z
"Deals","deals",179,"2026-06-29T20:02:07.000Z
"Hardware","hardware",140,"2026-08-19T18:25:42.000Z
"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",95,"2026-08-18T16:05:00.000Z
"Science","science",90,"2026-08-19T18:41:02.000Z
"Software","software",73,"2026-08-18T07:51:50.000Z
"Dev Tools","dev-tools",69
"Startups","startups",47,"2026-08-19T19:13:46.000Z
"Gaming","gaming",41,"2026-07-09T04:00:00.000Z
"General","general",33,"2026-08-18T22:18:13.000Z
"Reviews","reviews",20,"2026-06-24T12:00:01.000Z
"How-To","how-to",6,"2026-06-16T09:00:00.000Z"]
