Amazon UK has cut the MacBook Neo to £609.97 from £699, but the reviewer who flagged the deal says stock is very limited.
That is about £89 off, or roughly 13%. According to the reviewer's own price tracking, it is the lowest price since June. It is still around £50 above the previous record low, so this is a good price rather than the best one. The reviewer also wrote that a discount that deep is unlikely to return, because Apple raised the Neo's price earlier in 2026.
The specs are modest: a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, an A18 Pro chip (the same family of processor used in recent iPhones), 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The listing cites up to 16 hours of battery life, which is a manufacturer-style figure and not a tested result.
The reviewer's case is about positioning. At roughly £600, the Neo competes with the Dell XPS 13 and newer Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops, which the reviewer says offer similar power, performance and battery life. The same publication's earlier review called the Neo "the best budget laptop you can buy", though the reviewer concedes that is a tougher recommendation after the price rise. The Neo is also not aimed at heavy creative work, where the Air and Pro models pull ahead.
The reviewer's forecast is a judgment call and not a pricing signal from Amazon or Apple. They think the Neo is unlikely to fall to £549 or lower again, apart from a possible chance during this year's Black Friday sales. If so, the choice for a student is simple: pay about £610 now and risk limited stock, or wait for a Black Friday price that may not come.
