Apple's newest MacBook Air is $200 cheaper this week, courtesy of Amazon's October Prime Day event.
The 13-inch MacBook Air with an M5 chip and 512GB of storage dropped from $1,299 to $1,099 at Amazon. The 15-inch model, also with 512GB of storage, fell from $1,499 to $1,299. Both configurations had their prices raised by Apple back in June, so this sale effectively undoes that increase. The 15-inch version also adds a bigger screen, two extra GPU cores, and two additional speakers for a total of six.
That math matters because the M5 Air's main selling point isn't flashy new features. It's a faster processor and quicker storage layered onto a laptop that already nails the fundamentals: long battery life, a bright screen, and strong speakers.
Deals like this tend to vanish once Prime Day ends, so treat the lower price as a limited window, not the new normal.
