The \"lowest ever\" label comes from the deal write-up's own observation of Amazon pricing. It does not show a price history, so treat it as a claim rather than a verified record. The source also does not say which configuration the $2,499 figure covers, or when the sale ends.\n\nThe machine is a 7.7-inch square desktop built around the M5 Max chip. It has Thunderbolt 5 ports (a high-speed connection standard for displays and storage), support for up to eight monitors, onboard USB-A and USB-C ports, and a headphone jack. Apple says it delivers up to 3.9x faster AI performance than previous models. That is the company's own figure, and the source does not say which earlier model or workload it is measured against.\n\nThe discount trims the price but does not change who the machine is for. Even at $2,299, this is a purchase aimed at people with demanding workloads who want a small box on the desk, such as multi-display setups or AI work. A sale on one listing at one retailer also says little about how Apple's newest hardware is priced elsewhere, since the source cites no other retailer.\n\nThe useful comparison is the one the source leaves out: what the same configuration costs at Apple's own store, and how Amazon's price has moved since the model went on sale.","[\"apple\",\"mac-studio\",\"deals\"]","2026-10-19T16:12:10.000Z","2026-10-19T17:11:29.828Z","2026-10-19T17:11:31.971Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"Remove or support the unsourced claims: 'Apple rarely cuts prices on its own stores early in a product's life', 'early discounts on new Apple desktops tend to be shallow', the 'retailers are discounting Apple's newest hardware' generalization drawn from one deal, and the statement that the M5 Max 'adds' Thunderbolt 5 (the source only says it comes with it, not that it is new).
