Amazon rebranded Kindle Unlimited as Kindle+ on October 22, 2026, and anyone who wants out now has to find the service under the new name.
The price in the cancellation guide is $11.99 per month. The guide also says people who recently bought a new Kindle may have a free first month on offer. After that, the card on file gets charged monthly until the member cancels.
According to the guide, the process takes about 5 minutes and needs a computer. On Amazon, open the "Accounts & Lists" menu and click "Memberships & Subscriptions", which lists active and past memberships. Find Kindle+, click "Cancel", and step through the prompts.
The detail worth keeping is about free trials. The guide says a trial membership should stay active through the promotional period after cancelling. In practice, a new Kindle owner can cancel on day one and still use the free month, which removes the need to set a reminder and hope it works.
The guide covers only the name change. It does not say whether the price, the catalog or the terms changed alongside the new branding, and a rename on its own tells readers little. For existing subscribers, the practical effect is smaller: the old name may no longer appear on their account page, and a search for "Kindle Unlimited" there could come up empty.
Whether Kindle+ turns out to be more than a new label is a question the guide does not try to answer.
