Jackery's mid-tier power station just got cheaper and quicker to recharge.
As of Sept. 22, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is $499 at Amazon, down from $559, an 11% cut. The 1,070Wh unit uses LiFePO4 battery cells rated for over 4,000 charge cycles, roughly a decade of regular use before capacity noticeably drops. It puts out 1,500W continuously with a 3,000W peak surge, enough for a portable AC unit, a fridge, or power tools. Six outlets round it out, including a 100W USB-C port for laptops, three AC plugs, and a 30dB fan mode quiet enough for a tent.
The headline upgrade is speed. An app toggle unlocks a one-hour full recharge, with a gentler 1.7-hour default to protect long-term battery health. That fixes the biggest complaint about earlier Jackery mid-tier units, which could take most of a day to top off. At 23.8 pounds, it also splits the difference between grab-and-go power banks and the chunkier 1kWh boxes that need two hands to carry.
None of this is charity. $499 is still a real purchase for occasional blackout insurance or weekend camping, and the fast-charge mode exists mainly so Jackery can put "1 hour" on a listing. But LiFePO4's cycle life does change the math versus cheaper lithium-ion packs that fade within a couple of years.
