The Wi-Fi model with 128GB of storage is down to $499, the 256GB version is $599, and the cellular 128GB configuration is $649. Apple hiked prices across several devices in June, and this is the first discount on the Mini since then. It's worth noting the base model regularly sold for closer to $400 throughout most of 2025, so $499 is a partial rollback, not a return to last year's going rate.\n\nThat gap matters more than the headline discount. A tablet that routinely cost $400 a year ago is now being marketed as a deal at $100 more, which says less about generosity and more about where Apple has reset expectations after June's price hike. The seventh-gen Mini still runs the A17 Pro chip with Apple Intelligence support and works with the Apple Pencil Pro, specs unchanged since its 2024 launch, and a hands-on review at the time flagged it as missing some of the quality-of-life upgrades that larger iPads picked up in the same cycle.\n\nIf a new iPad Mini lands later this year, as expected, this could be the last chance to buy the current model before it either disappears or gets pricier still. Call it a decent deal on aging hardware, not a steal.","[\"ipad-mini\",\"apple\",\"amazon\",\"deals\"]","2026-10-04T12:31:50.000Z","2026-10-05T06:10:45.815Z","2026-10-05T06:10:47.398Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"Fix two issues: the claim that $499 'is really just a return to what Apple itself used to charge for most of last year' directly contradicts the preceding sentence that the base model sold for around $400 throughout 2025, and the review cited ('our review') is The Verge's, not The Revision's, so attribute it properly instead of claiming it as the publication's own.","resolved","deals",[32,33,34,30],"ipad-mini","apple","amazon",[36],{"name":37,"url":38},"The Verge","https:\u002F\u002Fwww.theverge.com\u002Fgadgets\u002F1000323\u002Fapple-ipad-mini-amazon-prime-big-deal-days-sale",0,{"sections":41},[42,47,52,57,61,66,70,75,80,85,90,95,100,105],{"name":43,"slug":44,"count":45,"latest_published_at":46},"AI","ai",6060,"2026-10-03T12:00:00.000Z",{"name":48,"slug":49,"count":50,"latest_published_at":51},"Security","security",851,"2026-10-04T12:55:00.000Z",{"name":53,"slug":54,"count":55,"latest_published_at":56},"Policy","policy",439,"2026-10-02T04:00:00.000Z",{"name":58,"slug":30,"count":59,"latest_published_at":60},"Deals",321,"2026-10-04T13:00:00.000Z",{"name":62,"slug":63,"count":64,"latest_published_at":65},"Hardware","hardware",200,"2026-10-03T14:50:50.000Z",{"name":67,"slug":68,"count":69,"latest_published_at":56},"Science","science",176,{"name":71,"slug":72,"count":73,"latest_published_at":74},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",156,"2026-10-02T15:20:39.000Z",{"name":76,"slug":77,"count":78,"latest_published_at":79},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",96,"2026-10-01T16:57:03.000Z",{"name":81,"slug":82,"count":83,"latest_published_at":84},"Software","software",93,"2026-09-30T21:41:11.000Z",{"name":86,"slug":87,"count":88,"latest_published_at":89},"Startups","startups",90,"2026-10-01T21:55:22.000Z",{"name":91,"slug":92,"count":93,"latest_published_at":94},"Gaming","gaming",53,"2026-10-02T02:50:39.000Z",{"name":96,"slug":97,"count":98,"latest_published_at":99},"General","general",50,"2026-09-30T21:37:54.000Z",{"name":101,"slug":102,"count":103,"latest_published_at":104},"Reviews","reviews",32,"2026-10-02T18:00:00.000Z",{"name":106,"slug":107,"count":108,"latest_published_at":109},"How-To","how-to",7,"2026-10-01T09:00:00.000Z"]
