According to a new report, Apple intends to release its next-generation Siri alongside iOS 27 this fall, but the assistant will arrive labeled as a beta experience. Rather than a polished, feature-complete launch, Apple reportedly plans to treat it as an evolving product, filling in capabilities over time. The framing would let Apple claim delivery while preserving room to keep building.
This matters because Apple has been promising a meaningfully upgraded Siri for the better part of two years. Apple Intelligence debuted in 2024 with similar phased-rollout language, and many of its headline features trickled in through point releases across iOS 18. A beta label does double duty: it signals ambition while preemptively excusing gaps. Anyone buying an iPhone this fall should expect a Siri that previews what is coming more than one that delivers it.
Shipping unfinished AI and calling it a preview has become an industry-wide cover story. The more relevant question is whether this version of Siri arrives meaningfully ahead of iOS 28.
