Apple is planting break reminders in iOS 27’s Siri.
The iOS 27 beta contains a new UI element that pops up after a prolonged Siri interaction, suggesting the user take a break. The code references a threshold of roughly 30 minutes of continuous dialogue before the prompt appears. A developer who dug into the beta said the message reads, “You’ve been talking with Siri for a while—consider taking a short break.” The feature is hidden behind a flag and only visible in internal testing builds at the moment.
If Apple ships it, the reminder could curb overly long voice sessions that drain battery and distract users. It also signals that Apple is paying attention to how people use conversational AI, beyond just adding new commands.
For now, it’s just another piece of code in a beta, and there’s no guarantee it will make it to the public release.
