Instagram has added an AI editor that talks back to creators while they work.
The feature is a conversational AI assistant built into Instagram's video editor. It responds to creators as they edit, rather than handing over a canned checklist. Instagram says the point is personalization: feedback tuned to the specific video, not boilerplate advice that applies to anyone. That's the whole pitch so far: a chat window standing in for an editor looking over your shoulder.
Every platform with a video pipeline has tried some version of content-improvement tooling, from TikTok's caption tests to YouTube's analytics nudges. Those tools are mostly reactive, telling you what already flopped. A conversational layer that reacts while you edit is a different bet: cheaper than human feedback, faster than waiting on analytics, and a hedge against creators drifting toward AI-assisted editors like CapCut.
Whether personalized feedback from a chatbot beats a blunt friend with good taste is the open question, and it's one Instagram's metrics, not its press release, will eventually answer.
