Meta's smart glasses have a setting that keeps your photos and videos out of its AI training data, once you find it.
The toggle lives in the glasses' companion app and controls whether human reviewers can look at photos and videos your camera captures, then use them to train Meta's AI models. Switch it off, and that footage stays out of the pipeline. It's not a prominent option; a recent walkthrough was needed just to show where the setting hides and how to flip it.
That matters because smart glasses record differently than a phone. A phone camera is a deliberate choice: you point it, you shoot. Glasses capture whatever you happen to be looking at, which makes an easy-to-miss AI training toggle a bigger deal than it sounds.
Buried settings that default to sharing your data aren't new. They're just harder to notice when the camera sits on your face instead of in your hand.
