One power station, the Anker Solix S2000, shows a 43 percent discount off a $1,199 list price on Amazon - but Anker's own site lists the true MSRP for the same unit at $999.99, with an identical sale price on both pages. Other deals come from resellers rather than Amazon itself: a discounted Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra turned out to be sold not by Amazon or Samsung but by a third-party seller called ReNew Pros, which carries only a 78 percent positive rating.\n\nThis matters because shoppers already have fewer reliable price anchors this year, with component costs like RAM spiking and sellers under pressure to make discounts look dramatic. A list price set by the retailer itself is not a neutral baseline, and a flashy percentage-off badge can hide a seller with a track record worth checking. Free tools close that gap: CamelCamelCamel and Walmart's equivalent, Camelmart, chart real price history, while Amazon's own Alexa for Shopping, built on its Rufus assistant, can show up to a year of pricing data and set alerts for a specific item.\n\nA discount is only as good as the price it's measured against, and this week a lot of those reference points look suspiciously convenient.","[\"amazon\",\"prime day\",\"deals\",\"price tracking\"]","2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z","2026-10-06T02:43:20.066Z","2026-10-06T02:43:25.703Z","published",null,[],"how-to",[26,27,28,29],"amazon","prime day","deals","price tracking",[31],{"name":32,"url":33},"Mashable","https:\u002F\u002Fmashable.com\u002Ftech\u002Fhow-to-find-good-deals-amazon-october-prime-day",0,{"sections":36},[37,42,47,52,56,61,65,70,75,80,85,90,95,100],{"name":38,"slug":39,"count":40,"latest_published_at":41},"AI","ai",6323,"2026-10-05T12:38:10.000Z",{"name":43,"slug":44,"count":45,"latest_published_at":46},"Security","security",871,"2026-10-05T04:00:00.000Z",{"name":48,"slug":49,"count":50,"latest_published_at":51},"Policy","policy",446,"2026-10-05T10:25:00.000Z",{"name":53,"slug":28,"count":54,"latest_published_at":55},"Deals",347,"2026-10-05T13:01:00.000Z",{"name":57,"slug":58,"count":59,"latest_published_at":60},"Hardware","hardware",206,"2026-10-05T11:35:00.000Z",{"name":62,"slug":63,"count":64,"latest_published_at":46},"Science","science",179,{"name":66,"slug":67,"count":68,"latest_published_at":69},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",160,"2026-10-05T10:23:15.000Z",{"name":71,"slug":72,"count":73,"latest_published_at":74},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",99,"2026-10-05T10:47:06.000Z",{"name":76,"slug":77,"count":78,"latest_published_at":79},"Software","software",97,"2026-10-04T10:00:00.000Z",{"name":81,"slug":82,"count":83,"latest_published_at":84},"Startups","startups",93,"2026-10-05T11:13:51.000Z",{"name":86,"slug":87,"count":88,"latest_published_at":89},"Gaming","gaming",53,"2026-10-02T02:50:39.000Z",{"name":91,"slug":92,"count":93,"latest_published_at":94},"General","general",51,"2026-10-05T02:35:01.000Z",{"name":96,"slug":97,"count":98,"latest_published_at":99},"Reviews","reviews",33,"2026-10-05T11:57:17.000Z",{"name":101,"slug":24,"count":102,"latest_published_at":18},"How-To",8]
