Amazon is discounting fitness trackers a week before its own Prime Big Deal Days sale even starts.
The company has cut prices on trackers from Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung, and Google ahead of the two-day event, which runs Oct. 6-7. Deals include the Garmin vivoactive 5 at $189.99 (down $110 from $299.99), the Fitbit Sense 2 at $199.95 (save $50), and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 at $185 (save $64.99). Budget shoppers can get the Fitbit Charge 6 for $133.49, while endurance athletes can pick up the rugged, solar-charging Garmin fenix 7X Pro for $674, a $325.99 cut. The Google Pixel Watch 4 is at $329.95, its lowest price yet.
Pre-sale markdowns like these are less generosity than strategy: retailers stagger discounts to spread out demand and gauge what shoppers will pay before the marquee event hits. It also means the loudest 'Prime Day' deals aren't happening on Prime Day itself, but whenever Amazon decides to start the clock.
If a tracker on this list is already circling its replacement, like the vivoactive 5 or Galaxy Watch 7, the 'savings' figure is doing some of the marketing for Amazon.
