Amazon now lists it at $2,436.53, down from the regular $2,999. Stock is limited to the Space Black finish, and delivery estimates are sliding into November. That cut also beats the markdown MacRumors tracked on the same machine during Prime Day earlier this week, by more than $300.\n\nApple itself almost never discounts new hardware, so this is a retailer clearing inventory, not a company move. A deal that outpaces Prime Day, historically the biggest markdown event of the year, suggests this particular configuration isn't moving as fast as Apple would like.\n\nTreat it as a retailer's bet on demand, not a verdict from Apple, and expect it to disappear the moment stock does.","[\"macbook pro\",\"apple\",\"amazon deal\",\"m5 pro\"]","2026-10-08T14:19:50.000Z","2026-10-09T09:03:36.675Z","2026-10-09T09:03:42.373Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"The source only confirms this deal beats the Prime Day markdown by over $300 — it never says this is the lowest price MacRumors has ever tracked on this configuration, so remove or re-source that specific claim.","resolved","deals",[32,33,34,35],"macbook pro","apple","amazon deal","m5 pro",[37],{"name":38,"url":39},"MacRumors","https:\u002F\u002Fwww.macrumors.com\u002F2026\u002F10\u002F08\u002F16-inch-macbook-pro-massive-discount\u002F",0,{"sections":42},[43,48,53,58,62,67,72,77,82,87,92,97,102,107],{"name":44,"slug":45,"count":46,"latest_published_at":47},"AI","ai",6528,"2026-10-08T16:21:29.000Z",{"name":49,"slug":50,"count":51,"latest_published_at":52},"Security","security",922,"2026-10-08T16:05:00.000Z",{"name":54,"slug":55,"count":56,"latest_published_at":57},"Policy","policy",478,"2026-10-08T15:24:40.000Z",{"name":59,"slug":30,"count":60,"latest_published_at":61},"Deals",467,"2026-10-08T15:01:29.000Z",{"name":63,"slug":64,"count":65,"latest_published_at":66},"Hardware","hardware",225,"2026-10-08T13:10:18.000Z",{"name":68,"slug":69,"count":70,"latest_published_at":71},"Science","science",188,"2026-10-08T15:28:36.000Z",{"name":73,"slug":74,"count":75,"latest_published_at":76},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",179,"2026-10-08T16:00:00.000Z",{"name":78,"slug":79,"count":80,"latest_published_at":81},"Startups","startups",117,"2026-10-08T16:45:00.000Z",{"name":83,"slug":84,"count":85,"latest_published_at":86},"Software","software",113,"2026-10-07T18:10:00.000Z",{"name":88,"slug":89,"count":90,"latest_published_at":91},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",105,"2026-10-07T16:59:11.000Z",{"name":93,"slug":94,"count":95,"latest_published_at":96},"General","general",63,"2026-10-08T16:57:00.000Z",{"name":98,"slug":99,"count":100,"latest_published_at":101},"Gaming","gaming",57,"2026-10-08T15:18:41.000Z",{"name":103,"slug":104,"count":105,"latest_published_at":106},"Reviews","reviews",34,"2026-10-08T14:00:22.000Z",{"name":108,"slug":109,"count":110,"latest_published_at":111},"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
