Dreame's top-tier robot vacuum just dropped to its lowest price yet.
Amazon is selling the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 Robot Vacuum and Mop for $499.99, a $250 cut from its $749.99 list price. The machine runs a 25,000Pa suction motor with five power settings, strong enough to pull pet hair and litter out of high-pile carpet. A robotic arm extends the side brush and mop pads into 90-degree corners and under low furniture, and the mop pads lift automatically when the robot rolls onto carpet. After each run, the dock empties the dustbin, washes the mop pads, and dries them with warm air, and the robot can log up to 231 minutes on its 5,200mAh battery.
Self-emptying, self-washing, self-drying docks used to be the feature that separated flagship robot vacuums from budget models. Now that combination is showing up on a machine discounted to under $500, which says more about how fast this category is commoditizing than about any single sale. The real differentiator left is software - how well the robot maps a home and avoids cords, pet waste, and shoes - not the hardware add-ons.
As with most 'deal' pricing, the $749.99 list price is worth a raised eyebrow - it's the number this discount is measured against, not necessarily what most buyers ever paid. Still, $499.99 for this feature set is a real price, and it won't last forever.
