DJI's Avata 360 8K drone bundle just got $98.95 cheaper at Amazon.
The retailer has the kit priced at $719, down from its usual $817.95. The bundle pairs the drone with a carrying backpack, a landing pad, a DJI RC 2 remote controller, and a 128GB microSD card. The Avata shoots 8K video at 60 fps and 120 MP stills, using two 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors on a single-axis gimbal paired with a 360-degree virtual gimbal for all-around footage.
The timing has less to do with DJI upgrading anything and more to do with the calendar and the courts. Amazon's October Prime Day runs Oct. 6-7, and this is one of the early markdowns arriving ahead of it. More notably, recent US regulatory changes have effectively barred new DJI products from entering the country, though retailers can still sell through existing inventory.
That regulatory squeeze is the real story here. It means deals like this one are drawing down a finite stock, not a renewable one - once retailers sell what they have, replacement units may not arrive at all, and remaining stock could get pricier rather than cheaper. A discount on a soon-to-be-unavailable product is a different bet than a discount on one with an open supply chain.
