DJI's newest mini drone is cheaper now than it was during Prime Day.
Amazon is selling the DJI Mini 5 Pro for $679, down from its $759 list price - an $80 discount, or about 11% off. That actually beats the drone's previous all-time low of $683 by $4. The deal has outlasted Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days event, and since DJI doesn't sell the Mini 5 Pro on its own site, Amazon is currently the only place to get it below sticker price.
The spec bump explains why this one is worth a look even for people who skipped Prime Day. The Mini 5 Pro moves to a 50MP 1-inch sensor and 4K/60fps HDR video, a real step up from the Mini 4 Pro's smaller 1/1.3-inch chip, plus a 225-degree gimbal rotation for full-sensor vertical shots. That's a meaningful upgrade packed into a drone still built around the lightweight, easy-to-register category.
That lightweight framing comes with an asterisk: some units reportedly weigh in above 250 grams once a standard battery is attached, and Reddit users say current firmware mistakes distant clouds for obstacles, which can abruptly halt waypoint flights. A discount is nice. A mid-flight stop because your drone is scared of clouds is not.
