Amazon's October Prime Day sale has power tool prices sliding again, and the best deals skew toward DeWalt.
The retailer is discounting cordless tools across DeWalt, Craftsman, and Greenworks as part of the event that kicked off October 6. The standout tool-kit discount is $90 off a DeWalt 20V Max drill and impact driver combo, now $149. Craftsman's V20 Max drill and impact driver set drops to $99, a $70 cut, and Greenworks' 24V four-tool combo kit falls to $219.99, saving $20. The single biggest discount in the roundup, $100, applies not to a kit but to a DeWalt 20V Max 6.0Ah battery two-pack, now $179.
Battery compatibility is the real lock-in here: once you own a DeWalt or Craftsman platform, sales like this are how you cheaply expand it rather than start from scratch. That is why the battery deal outearns every tool kit on this list - replacement batteries are usually the most expensive part of keeping cordless tools running.
Prime Day power tool sales are predictable by now, but predictable does not mean bad - if you already own the platform, this is as good a week as any to stock up on batteries.
