Demon's Souls Hits 120 fps on PC in a KytyPS5 Emulation Video

One YouTuber's footage shows the PS5 exclusive hitting 120 fps on an RTX 5070 via an unofficial layer, with no independent check yet.

A YouTuber says Demon's Souls Remake, a PlayStation 5 exclusive since 2020, can run on a PC at up to 120 fps. Everything here rests on that one video.

The channel, Geralt Benchmarks, ran the game through KytyPS5, an unofficial translation layer (software that converts a console's instructions into ones a PC can execute). The rig was a GeForce RTX 5070 with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. In the footage, the game reaches more than 100 fps at 1440p with 2x DLSS frame generation, Nvidia's feature that inserts extra generated frames between rendered ones. A 1080p run, at the eight-minute mark, holds a mostly steady 120 fps.

For comparison, the PS5 locks the game to 60 fps at 1440p in performance mode. The video also includes a run with those PS5 settings left in place, which occasionally tops 70 fps. The description of that run does not say whether frame generation was on for it or for the 1080p test, so the numbers are not directly comparable. The footage also shows noticeable hitching. The writer who flagged the video called it tolerable, and described the PS5 version as very consistent at its cap.

There is no response from the KytyPS5 developers, no independent reproduction, and no detail on what exactly is running or how complete it is. One recording shows a game running. It does not show that the project handles the whole game, or that other PCs would get similar results.

Still, the timing fits a pattern. Sony's hardware remains the only official way to play Bluepoint Games' remake, and the PS5 now costs significantly more than it did at launch, which gives people a reason to look for other routes. Frame-generated figures also flatter any benchmark, since they count frames the GPU invented rather than ones the game rendered. The useful test is whether someone else can repeat the run with settings and frame-time data attached.
