A full case of Pokemon's new Delta Reign set just went up for preorder on Amazon, and the price is barely a deal at all.
Third-party seller Kings Games is listing the Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution Delta Reign Booster Display Box for $269.99, about $7.50 per pack across its 36 boosters. Each pack contains 10 random Pokemon cards plus a Basic Energy card and a Pokemon TCG Live code card, so the box works out to 360 random Pokemon cards total, not counting the energy and code cards bundled alongside them. Delivery is scheduled for November 10, four days after the set's November 6 release date, and Amazon's standard 30-day return window applies if a box arrives damaged. Delta Reign follows the popular 30th Anniversary Celebrations expansion and includes chase pulls like Mega Rayquaza ex, Raikou ex, and Mega Golurk ex special illustration rares.
Here's the catch: $269.99 is only $8.81 above the current TCGplayer market price for this box. That's not a discount so much as a rare chance to buy at close to list price before scalpers push it higher. Given how fast recent high-demand sets have sold out and resold above MSRP, paying near market rate before release is the actual news here, not some steep markdown.
If Delta Reign tracks Celebrations' trajectory, this price will look cheap within weeks of launch.
